Special police units were deployed to Bési, in the commune of Arcahaie, after an armed attack around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2026, according to HaitiLibre. The units that responded immediately included the Departmental Operation and Intervention Brigade (BOID) and the Intervention and Public Order Maintenance Corps (CIMO). The outlet's account does not say whether the new attack caused any casualties.

The operation two days earlier

The attack came after a Haitian National Police (PNH) operation in the same area on Thursday, October 29. HaitiLibre reports that about 20 gang members were killed in that operation, among them a leader known as "Galaxy". Others were wounded in the clashes that followed.

Eyewitnesses told the outlet that a number of gang members fled once their leader was dead. HaitiLibre adds that local sources suggest kamikaze drones played a key role in the operation. The outlet gives no further detail on how the drones were used.

Police presence in Arcahaie

According to the same source, police are holding their positions in the commune of Arcahaie. They remain mobilized to carry on operations against the gangs and to maintain order and security in the areas under threat.
