About the programme
A gospel concert is not experienced only from the stage: it is experienced in the room as well. Konsè Gospel broadcasts complete concerts, recorded on the spot, where you hear the congregation singing with the artists, answering the choruses and applauding between songs.
Nothing is removed in the edit. The concert is shown from end to end, from the walk on stage to the final song, with the applause, the moments when the audience takes up a chorus at full voice and the pauses when the artist speaks to the room. That is what sets it apart from a music video or a studio recording: you get the momentum of a shared evening, with its surprises, its build-up and its high points, rather than a string of separate songs.
The programme fills the evening, for an hour and a half, when there is finally time to sit down and enjoy a whole performance. It comes before Adorasyon, which then brings the channel back towards the calm of the night. Konsè Gospel is for those who could not attend a concert, those who live far from the venues where Haitian gospel artists perform, and especially families in the diaspora, who can gather at home and find again the atmosphere of a large praise gathering.
