About the programme

Kilt Aswè is NAGO Gospel's evening service, shown in full from the first hymn to the final amen. Nothing is cut: the congregation's singing, the prayers, the offering and the sermon run in the order they happen, as if you were sitting in a pew.

The congregation changes every week. That means different choirs, different preachers, and each community's own way of leading worship, with its own hymns and its own habits.

The evening service has a special place in the life of Haitian churches, in Haiti and across the diaspora. After the working day, people gather to sing, pray and hear the Word. Kilt Aswè brings that hour to those who cannot make it to church that night: older people, the sick, families far from their own church, and anyone working late.

What you will see

  • Opening hymns sung by the congregation, in Kreyòl and French
  • Prayer and intercession
  • The offering
  • The sermon, preached in full and uncut
  • The closing hymn and the benediction
