Nithya Raman Runs for Mayor of Los Angeles

Nithya Raman, backed by the Democratic Socialists of America, is in a strong position against her Democratic rival in the race for mayor of Los Angeles. According to RFI — Amériques, her candidacy could give two of the country's largest cities a progressive mayor, following Zohran Mamdani's recent victory in New York.

It is worth noting that the current political climate shows a growing trend toward progressive officials in American cities. RFI — Amériques also stresses the strategic importance of this election for the national Democratic scene, since Los Angeles is a key stronghold of socialist movements.

Meanwhile, Primera Hora reports that Johnny Depp recently sent the crowd into a frenzy at a concert with Aerosmith in Los Angeles. However, this information is not directly related to the political context of the election and is not part of the main subject.
