The midday bulletin with the morning's developments brought up to date, plus reports filed from the departments since the first edition.
By midday, the morning's news has had time to move on. Jounal Midi takes up the stories that have emerged since the first bulletin and brings them up to date: what has been confirmed, what has changed, what has been added. For an hour, this NAGO News bulletin links the news people woke up to with the stories that will fill the afternoon.
What sets it apart is the regions. Since the morning edition, reports have come in from the departments, and Jounal Midi gives them a place in the running order. Haiti has ten departments, and what happens in the South, the North-West or the Central Plateau cannot be reduced to what is visible from the capital. This bulletin lets viewers see the country as a whole in the middle of the day. Stories from the regions are presented with their local context, so viewers understand why they matter to the people affected.
Lunchtime is when many people stop, at work, at home or in a restaurant, and have time to follow a bulletin all the way through. In Haiti, it is a chance to catch up before getting back to the day's business. For the diaspora, depending on the time zone, it often falls early in the morning or at their own lunch break. Jounal Midi is made for that audience: complete without being too long, and up to date on what has moved since the morning.
Every day. Live on nago.tv, on the NAGO News channel.
