About the programme

At the end of a dance, there comes a moment everyone knows: the floor thins out, the lights seem softer, and the band slows the tempo for whoever is still there. Konpa Lanmou is made for that moment.

The programme offers a selection of slow, romantic konpa in long versions, with the songs people stay for. These are the tracks danced as a couple, close and unhurried, the ones whose words everyone knows by heart and that bring back a wedding, a neighbourhood party or a first dance. The long versions give each song time to settle, without cutting it just as it starts to take hold.

Konpa is Haiti's best-known dance music, and its romantic repertoire holds a special place in families, at home and across the diaspora. On NAGO Music, Konpa Lanmou closes the evening after the energy of Prime Mizik and before the continuous mix of Club Nago. For an hour and a half, it gives people coming home from work, resting, or thinking of someone far away music made for the end of the day.
