Pruce visited the scenes of recent armed robberies and spoke with victims, describing their accounts as horrifying but praising their resilience during traumatic incidents. He thanked those who provided details about what happened during the robberies.
The Governor emphasized the importance of public cooperation in assisting police investigators. "I pay tribute to the people who were innocent victims in these awful criminal acts," he said. An earlier robbery took place on September 25 at a business along Blackburn Highway in Purcell.
Preliminary investigations by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force indicate that masked men wearing gloves traveled on scooters during these robberies, demanding cash from businesses' registers before fleeing with money.
The Acting Commissioner of Police accompanied Pruce during his visits and confirmed further attention to these incidents at the National Security Council. The police force has increased targeted patrols in response to the recent crimes.
