About the programme
While the night wears on in Haiti, sport carries on elsewhere. World Sport Wrap gathers results and stories from around the world: European football, competitions across the Americas, athletics and every other sport that was played overnight.
The programme takes a wide view. It is not limited to football, even though football takes up a large share, and it moves from one continent to another to give an overall picture of what happened while many people were asleep. Results come with the context needed to understand why they matter, without turning every fixture into a long story. In an hour, viewers go around the sporting world and know where the major competitions stand.
The programme appeals to the many Haitians who follow foreign leagues, support European clubs or keep a close eye on the national teams of the region. It also serves the diaspora, spread across several time zones, for whom the Haitian night can fall at a very different point in their day. On NAGO Sport, World Sport Wrap complements the programmes devoted to Haitian football, such as Foutbòl Ayiti and Chanpyona Lokal, by opening a window on the rest of the world. It also sets things up for Sport Maten, which picks up the overnight results in the morning and lays out the day's schedule. Between the two, nothing played far from Haiti slips past the viewer.
