UNESCO honors artistic initiatives in the face of crisis

During an event held on Thursday, October 8th, organized by UNESCO, Emmanuel Ménard, Minister of Culture and Communication, announced a project aimed at opening a permanent space to facilitate the sale of artistic and artisanal works in Haiti. The minister emphasized that this place would allow creators to sell their productions in the current difficult context.

The ceremony, which took place at the Royal Oasis Hotel in Pétion-Ville from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the presence of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the artistic and cultural community, highlighted the continuous efforts of artists despite the security crisis. Eric Voli Bi, UNESCO's representative in Haiti, recalled that the project launched on March 3rd aims to support professionals in the sector and preserve Haitian cultural life.

The minister did not provide further details about access to this space or the means for its operation but indicated that the initiative would be implemented during the first quarter of the fiscal year.
