Real Madrid crushed Valencia on Saturday evening with a resounding 3-0 win. The goals were scored by Federico Valverde, Arda Güler and Kylian Mbappé. Real Madrid's Yan Diomandé had been shown a yellow card, while José Gayà was sent off with a red at half-time.

Valencia player Pablo Maffeo openly complained about the referee's decisions as he left the pitch at the break. The match was played in a special atmosphere, with a tribute to the late Jesus De Miguel before kick-off and in the 9th minute.

In that emotional setting, the Madrid side quickly took the lead through Valverde, who opened the scoring after his free kick took a deflection (28'). Arda Güler came on to score the second goal after a run down the wing by Jude Bellingham (36').

Kylian Mbappé, despite an equaliser missed by Sadiq and Guido Rodríguez in the first half, finally found the net in the second half for his 13th goal of the season. Gayà was sent off for a foul on Mbappé (79').
