Sonia Panglose, originally from Guadeloupe, was appointed counselor at the Civil Chamber of Basse-Terre after completing her studies at the University of the French West Indies and Guyana. For her part, Moune Mercan, from Martinique, began her duties as Substitute General at the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Appeal of Basse-Terre.

These nominations come in the context of the recent launch of the first "Talent Prep Class" in Fouillole, aimed at preparing students to take the entrance exam for the National School of the Judiciary. Michaël Janas, President of the Court of Appeal of Basse-Terre, notes that these arrivals are part of work carried out over several years to diversify the profiles of magistrates in Guadeloupe.

The nomination of Sonia Panglose and Moune Mercan echoes recent efforts to integrate more Antilleans into the judicial system, particularly with the previous appointment of a female magistrate from Guadeloupe as Substitute in Saint-Martin. These nominations aim to strengthen diversity and inclusion within the body of magistrates.
