Two Haitian table tennis players, Donika Saint-Fleur and Markenley Rubin, are taking part in the inaugural camp of the Americas Table Tennis Training and Development Center (CETMA), held from November 3 to 24 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Le Nouvelliste reports. The two players left Haiti on November 1, according to the newspaper.

The camp is being held at the Table Tennis Palace in Parque del Este. It brings together 28 athletes from 12 countries, coached by 12 trainers, ITTF Americas President Juan Vila of the Dominican Republic announced, according to the Dominican sports site CDN Deportes. "The initiative to open this center arises from the need to reduce the gap in technical level among the countries of the Americas," he said.

A center to train athletes and coaches

CETMA is a project of the Pan American Table Tennis Confederation (ITTF Americas), supported by Panam Sports, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), the German Olympic Committee, the Dominican Sports Ministry and the Dominican Olympic Committee, according to CDN Deportes. Six international and local technicians will work there, including German coach Felix Fuzi. The center is also meant to train coaches, share teaching methods between countries and help identify young talent.

In August 2026, the ITTF announced a partnership with the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB), under which specialists from the German Table Tennis Association will teach courses in the Dominican Republic, Peru and Mexico.
