Haitian singer Tafa Mi-Soleil, whose real name is Evenie Rose Thafaina Saint Louis, is preparing an album due out in 2027, she announced on Chokarella's podcast "De Tout et De Rien," released this week. In the interview, the artist talked about her musical evolution, her interest in history and her relationship with vodou.

"I didn't start out as a roots singer. Today, I consider myself one," she says, according to Chokarella. She adds that she does not want to give up what she did before: "I don't want to box myself in."

Memory and vodou

The artist places great importance on remembrance. "If there is no work of memory, we are condemned to relive the same stories," she says. On vodou, she describes herself as still "on a journey" and says she keeps learning about the tradition. According to Chokarella, she believes vodou remains hard to structure, notably because of the anti-vodou campaigns it has faced over time, and stresses that it "demands a lot of principles and discipline."

She also says she is working on several fashion and music projects, without giving more details.

"Lave", a teaser on Instagram

Meanwhile, Tafa Mi-Soleil posted on her Instagram account a teaser of "Lave" ("Ou pare?"), directed by Smitty I Produce and produced by AndyBeatz. The song has been available as an audio track on her YouTube channel since May 7, 2026; no release date has been announced for a possible video.
