Laurent Nunez, the Minister of the Interior, participated in the meeting where the Prime Minister promised "initial announcements" for high school students early next week. The unions lamented the absence of student organizations and are demanding that their grievances be addressed quickly.

The Defender of Rights indicated that it has received 46 referrals since the beginning of the high school student movement, including more than a dozen concerning recent events. Lecornu will also meet with political parties on Thursday to discuss securing the presidential campaign.

Planned demonstrations

New demonstrations are planned for Saturday at the call of the yellow vests and high school student movements, and then on November 5 by the unions. The curfews have been extended until Friday in certain areas of Marseille and will be in effect around the Capitol in Toulouse between Thursday and Sunday.

Reactions

Cyril Chabanier, president of the CFTC, emphasized the importance of being "in the street" to offer peaceful outlets. Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau indicated that 300 people have appeared before a magistrate following the violence last weekend.
