According to Sánchez, the disputes between him and Aldridge stem from a legal case involving a minor close to their social circles. In that case, Aldridge represented one of the parties while Sánchez accompanied the girl's family during a trial. The countersuit maintains that Aldridge criticized Sánchez's presence at the trial, despite their friendship.
The radio altercation occurred after a text exchange between the two men where Aldridge questioned him about a missed greeting. These private messages escalated into public insults. The countersuit adds that, shortly after this incident, Aldridge canceled conversations related to the minor's legal proceedings.
Sánchez is asking the court to dismiss the defamation lawsuit filed by Aldridge on July 28, 2026. He asserts that the use of the term "pendej..." does not constitute a false statement but rather a personal opinion, and that Aldridge has exploited this incident to attract media attention.
Ramón Rosario Cortés, Sánchez's attorney, specifies in his filing that the court can note that "pendejo" means tonto, estúpido, cobarde, pusilánime, and a disorderly life. Gian Oliver Martínez also assisted in preparing the countersuit.
Sánchez's defense argues that a simple insulting term does not constitute defamation without an indication of a false statement about Aldridge. According to the lawyers, saying "pendej..." in the described context is a sign of contempt but does not attribute any concrete conduct or verifiable information to the person targeted.
Court Evaluation
The final decision rests with the court, which must carefully examine these allegations. The filing of documents does not yet represent a judicial determination on either party's claims.
