POLITIQUE

Several meetings have been organized between political actors and representatives from the private sector, including Fanmi Lavalas and Enex Jean-Charles. The discussions cover various previous works by Jerry Tardieu, Boniface Alexandre, Claude Moïse, and Carry Hector.

A preferred approach aims for a limited revision rather than a complete overhaul of the political system. Among the topics discussed: harmonizing electoral terms to unify them at five years; the appointment process for the Prime Minister without parliamentary ratification but with a vote of confidence before Parliament.

The possibility of serving two presidential terms and the conditions for discharge for former public officials are also being examined. The current mechanism is criticized for its political dimension, which could lead to the CSCCA taking over this responsibility.

Discussions on the organization of local communities include replacing the municipal council with an elected mayor. These proposals still need to be finalized and adopted.
