More than one hundred victims in Artibonite despite FRG action

Since August 1, 2026, Saturday until September 15, 2026, Tuesday, more than a hundred people have been directly affected by gang violence in the Artibonite department. Despite the deployment of the Gang Repression Force (FRG) with an operational base in Gonaïves, the security situation continues to deteriorate.
According to AlterPresse, at least 105 people were victims in this department over a month and a half period. A source from the United Nations consulted by the same media indicates that despite efforts deployed to restore security, these violences persist.
