The Haitian government supports Violette AC for the semifinal

The Haitian government announced its intention to provide financial support to the Violette AC club so that it can play the return match of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup 2026 against Portmore United FC, originally scheduled at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica. Minister Pythagore Dumas took steps to identify the urgent needs of the club after the initial announcement of the postponement.

The return match is now scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 7 PM (Haitian time) instead of Tuesday, October 20, as originally planned. This change follows pressure from a Dominican organization and the cancellation by Dominican authorities of the permit granted for the matches to be held in the Dominican Republic.

After contacting the secretariat of Violette AC, Pythagore Dumas conveyed these needs to Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé. As a result, the Haitian government has committed to financing the travel expenses for the entire club delegation between Cap-Haitien and Kingston via Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Preparation for the Return Match

Violette AC had to leave the Dominican Republic after the cancellation of its permit and then returned to Haiti. Currently lodged in Cap-Haitien and preparing in Ouanaminthe before the return match, the club relies on this support to maintain its participation in the competition.
