The wife of Jean-Marc Furlan reveals his neurodegenerative illness

Jean-Marc Furlan, a coach in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 for several decades, has been suffering from a neurodegenerative disease for several years. According to revelations by his wife, Cécile Traverse Furlan, in a biographical book, the technician has not coached a professional team since his last complicated experience at Caen in 2023.

Furlan is currently without a club and is suffering from a neurodegenerative disease that affected the end of his career. "I do not want him to be turned into a carnival attraction," declares Cécile Traverse Furlan, emphasizing the importance for her husband to maintain some privacy regarding this illness.

The technician experienced difficult times when he was coaching SM Caen in 2023. Since his resignation, he has not held another professional coaching position and is currently living with the heavy burden of this neurodegenerative disease.
