Haitian police officers graduate after specialized training with French experts

Additionally, on the same day, more than thirty PNH agents graduated from a close protection program designed for dignitary security and response to attacks. This training began on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, and was delivered by experts from France's National Police. The ceremony included Vladimir Paraison, Acting Director General of the Haitian National Police; Marie Élisabeth Régine Joseph Haddad, Secretary General of the Presidency; and Gautier Lekens, French Ambassador to Haiti.
The program is part of a broader initiative that has seen nearly 500 PNH officers trained by RAID instructors since 2025. Inspector General Grégory-Hugues Frely from the French embassy's Internal Security Attaché also participated in presenting certificates.
Training Details
The negotiation skills course, which ran from September 22 to 25, focused on equipping police officers with techniques for negotiating effectively during kidnapping incidents. The close protection training covered methods of securing dignitaries and responding to attacks by foot or vehicle.
