Goalkeeper Kerly Théus is back in the national team picture. Head coach Pia Sundhage named her in a 35-player preliminary list for the November camp, ahead of the 2026 Concacaf W Championship, according to Le National and Haïti Sport Universel. The Grenadières will face Mexico in the quarterfinals on Saturday, November 28.

After missing several camps

Kerly Théus had missed the national team's most recent camps, Le National notes, without giving a reason. Only 23 of the 35 preselected players will make the final squad for the tournament, which runs from November 27 to December 5 in the United States. It counts toward qualification for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil.

The 2023 World Cup goalkeeper

Born on January 7, 1999 in Pétion-Ville, Kerly Théus was Haiti's starting goalkeeper at the country's first Women's World Cup in 2023. Against England, she saved Georgia Stanway's penalty, before the referee ordered it retaken, ruling she had left her line too early. England won only 1-0 despite 19 shots.

She had also played all three of Haiti's games at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, the Grenadières' first major tournament. She plays in the United States, in the USL W League.

The Grenadières this month

In October, Pia Sundhage's Grenadières played two friendlies against Japan and Australia. The final list of 23 is due before the team leaves for the United States.
