About the programme
NAGO Sport's evening is built around one main event. Gwo Match La shows the night's headline fixture live and in full, in a single unbroken block that brings together the build-up, the match and the reaction.
Running it as one continuous block changes the experience. There is no break between the build-up, the kick-off and what comes after the final whistle: viewers stay with the same programme from start to finish, for two and a half hours. The build-up sets the scene and what is at stake, the match is shown without cuts, and the reaction comes straight away, while emotions are still running high. Nobody has to switch programmes or wait for another show to find out how the story ends.
The evening is when people watch sport together. In Haiti, families, neighbours and friends gather at home or in a public place to follow a big match; in the diaspora, in the United States, Canada or France, the occasion often brings together people who share the same passion, sometimes on the phone with relatives back home. Gwo Match La is made for that shared moment. It differs from Direk Match, the afternoon live slot, in its place in the day and in its form: here, build-up, match and reaction make up a single programme. And for anyone who missed it, the match is shown again in full overnight on Rediyfizyon.
