About the programme

What are the papers saying this morning, and above all, what have they chosen to lead with? Revi Près answers that question for an hour on NAGO News. The newspapers are read and compared page by page: the front-page headlines, the main articles, the stories inside and the ones left out altogether. The reading is done without taking sides: the programme reports what each paper publishes, without telling viewers which one to believe.

The value of the exercise lies in the comparison. When several papers cover the same event, the programme shows where they agree and where they part ways, whether on the facts, the figures or the interpretation. It also looks at editorial choices: the story a paper puts on its front page often says as much about the paper as about the news. Viewers come away with an overview, and with some pointers for reading the press more closely themselves.

Not everyone has the time, or always the money, to buy and read several newspapers every morning. In Haiti and across the diaspora, Revi Près provides that overview in a single programme, airing mid-morning, once the papers are out and the first news of the day is already known. It carries on from the channel's breakfast coverage by moving from the account of events to the way they are reported.
