Three young Haitian diplomats have received certificates after finishing the 2026 Taiwan Global Pathfinders Initiative, according to HaitiLibre. The outlet reports that the program ran for one month.

Who took part

According to HaitiLibre, Haiti's delegation was made up of Juleviève Lineza Julsaint, Nicholas Anthony Karren Octavius and Harley Tuchman Hector. Julsaint and Octavius followed the sustainable tourism track. Hector took part in activities on cooperation in new energy and carbon credits.

What the program offered

HaitiLibre describes the initiative as a way for participants to build expertise in a range of fields, swap experiences and strengthen links between Taiwan and the countries it has diplomatic ties with. In the sessions, the three became acquainted with different approaches and initiatives in these sectors.

The closing ceremony

The final ceremony, where the certificates were handed out, was attended by Minister-Counselor Ricardin Saint-Jean, HaitiLibre reports. He stood in for the Ambassador of Haiti.

The ceremony came in the year when Haiti and Taiwan mark 70 years since establishing diplomatic relations. HaitiLibre says the program gave the participants chances to learn and share experiences, and that it has helped shape a new generation of diplomats ready to take on current challenges and work for Haiti's development and diplomatic reach.
