Cénéac stated, "We are calling for the evacuation of residents living in the communal sections affected by this wave of insecurity." However, Féquière Casséus, spokesperson for Haiti’s National Police (PNH) in Artibonite Department, told The Haitian Times that his department was unaware of any such plan.
The mayor also revealed that six people had experienced mental health crises due to the violence. He added that authorities have set up a permanent base for the UN-backed Gang Suppression Force (GSF) near Grépin and are working closely with these forces step by step to combat armed groups in the area.
