Delegation of 20 Trainers Visits Haitian Embassy in Paris

The training program was organized by French institutions such as the École Nationale de la Magistrature (French National School for Judiciary), École Nationale des Greffes (National School for Court Clerks), and Conseil National des Barreaux de France (French National Bar Council). Claudjinou Colastion, coordinator of the delegation, highlighted the importance of peer-to-peer training to ensure that all actors in the criminal justice system are adequately prepared.

Ambassador Louino Volcy emphasized the significance of this specialized training as a crucial step toward modernizing Haitian law. He thanked the French government for facilitating the program and noted its role in strengthening Franco-Haitian cooperation in judicial matters. "This training of trainers gives our bilateral partnership particular depth," he stated, underscoring the dual legal and cultural ties between France and Haiti.

Ina Pouant, Head of the Democracy Support Mission at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commended Haiti's penal reform efforts for their ambition to strengthen rule of law institutions. She expressed gratitude for the collaboration with French training institutions in preparing Haitian justice officials for upcoming changes.

Magistrate Garry Paul Angrand noted that the delegation left France equipped and more committed to ensuring a trained and respected judiciary system in Haiti: "We leave with a stronger conviction: the Haitian justice system deserves trained, equipped, and respected women and men."
