Emmanuel Ménard, the Minister of Communication, launched a new weekly programme called Governmental Podium on Wednesday, November 4th, 2026, according to HaitiLibre. Kathia Verdier, Minister for Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), was the first guest.

What the programme is for

The show is an institutional communication platform. It is meant to make government action more visible, ease the flow of public information and strengthen ties between the government and the public. It is also meant to help citizens understand the initiatives of the public authorities. The Ministry of Communication supports it.

Who is behind it

Lucien Jura, Secretary of State for Communication, spearheaded the initiative. It follows directives from Prime Minister Fils-Aimé aimed at reviving public communication.

The first episode

Verdier used her appearance to present her ministry's main achievements and to raise issues affecting the Haitian diaspora.

The episode had four parts: a profile of the guest, a documentary on what the ministry has accomplished under Verdier, a news segment and a humorous interlude. All four were intended to give the public the official information it is seeking.
