One band, one room, one take. Live Session records musicians live, with no overdubs and no click track in their ears. What you hear is what was played on the day, in order and with the imperfections that come with it.
That choice changes everything. With no parts added in the studio afterwards, a mistake cannot be erased and a good idea cannot be repeated. With no click track, the tempo breathes: it speeds up when the band gets carried away and slows down when a song asks for it. The arrangement is not fixed in advance; it depends on what the players decide in the moment, and a familiar song can take on a shape you have never heard before.
In an evening on NAGO Music, Live Session links the new releases of Nouvo Sòti and the big videos of Prime Mizik. It is the hour when you hear Haitian music without the gloss of production, the way a band actually plays it. Musicians will find a lesson in playing together.
