Ukraine: Zelensky Ready for a Cease-fire Along Current Lines

In an interview broadcast by Fox News and reported by EFE, Zelensky stated that this approach would immediately stop the conflict while maintaining about 75% of the territory under Ukrainian control.

Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump's envoy, arrived in Saint Petersburg on Wednesday for talks with Vladimir Putin. These negotiations follow meetings between Witkoff and Zelensky which were described as "very productive" by an unnamed official.
According to Anne Corpet, an international commentator for France 24, these talks are taking place against the backdrop of deteriorating bilateral relations between the United States and Russia since Trump's agreement with Putin on Russian diesel purchases. Zelensky also expressed confidence that these discussions would lead to a positive solution regarding the Starlink network and the supply of Patriot systems.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre stated that after Oslo, Witkoff would present on Wednesday to Russian authorities proposals developed by Americans and Europeans. These initiatives could pave the way for a meeting between Zelensky and Putin.
Discussions on the current ceasefire remain delicate, with Moscow viewing the easing of sanctions against Russia as an indication of American willingness to resolve the conflict. Ukrainian authorities also insist on obtaining security guarantees.
