Yves Jean-Bart was born in Aquin 79 years ago, on October 30, 1947. A doctor and sports journalist nicknamed Dadou, he led the Haitian Football Federation for many years.
A football executive
A founding member and executive of AS Tigresses, and later an executive at Aigle Noir AC, he took charge of the Haitian Football Federation and was re-elected for a sixth term on February 2, 2020. In 2011, following the suspensions of Jack Warner and Lisle Austin, he served as the interim president of the Caribbean Football Union.
Accusations and sanctions
On April 30, 2020, the British newspaper The Guardian published an investigation accusing him of sexually abusing young female players. Suspended on May 25, 2020, by the FIFA Ethics Committee, he was banned for life from all football-related activities on November 18, 2020, and ordered to pay a fine of CHF 1,000,000.
The annulment
The Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned this sanction on February 14, 2023. The court ruled that the evidence gathered was insufficient to support the accusations, noting inconsistencies in the statements presented by FIFA and a lack of forensic evidence.
