Walson Sanon registers as a voter while asking for guarantees
Walson Sanon, president of Anfòs pou Ayiti, registered to vote last Friday in Milot, in the North. This move is presented by Mr. Sanon as a civic act that does not mean he will participate in the upcoming elections.
"I consider this action as an individual responsibility allowing one to keep the possibility of expressing their voice during the election," he said. Mr. Sanon reiterates his wish that security conditions be guaranteed to avoid a "bloodbath" during the elections.
He also emphasizes the importance of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) and government authorities maintaining absolute neutrality. Despite these reservations, Mr. Sanon encourages citizen participation in the upcoming elections.
