Diakité scores hat trick, 6-1 in league: Sturm Graz heads into match against Marseille on a high

A six-goal win for the Austrians

According to Foot Mercato, the Austrian club defeated Grazer by a score of 6-1 in their league match. Former Remois Oumar Diakité scored a hat-trick in this game. The media sees this as confirmation of Sturm Graz's strong offensive momentum heading into the upcoming match against Marseille.

Marseille ends a two-game losing streak

On the Marseille side, sources describe a team that is turning things around. The club has won its last two consecutive matches in Ligue 1, with their most recent victory coming against Angers.

According to But! Football Club, Marseille won 5-2 on Sunday, three days after suffering a 0-1 defeat to Olympiakos in the Europa League. Trailing from the 14th minute, Bruno Genesio's team turned the match around before halftime thanks to goals from Himad Abdelli and Nouhoum Kamissoko, Kamissoko's first for Marseille. Amine Gouiri, Amine Harit, and Igor Paixão then scored in the second half. Paixão, who had not scored or assisted in several games, netted the fifth goal. The site notes that Marseille boasts one of the most prolific attacks in the league. This is the first time this season that the club has won back-to-back matches in Ligue 1.

What a Marseille journalist says

But! Football Club cites journalist Guillaume Dacquet, who praises individual performances: "And real individual satisfactions today (Abdelli, Nnadi, Harit, Aguerd, Kamissoko...)." He notes that Marseille is five points behind the league leader and two points from European spots. However, he adds a caveat: "To be confirmed with two home games against Le Havre and Toulouse to offer you a different view of your league and dream of a courageous season to go after something."

Foot Mercato believes that if they want to extend their streak in Europe, Marseille will need to remain particularly vigilant against a confident Sturm Graz.
