Stephane Richard warns of the critical situation at OM
Stephane Richard, president of Olympique de Marseille (OM), issued a warning about the club's difficult situation at an event organized by CMA CGM. He stated that the club will go through a period of austerity lasting more than one season and is at risk both financially and sportively.

"The 2026-2027 season will be the one where we lay the foundations for reconstruction, which will be a transitional season," he explained. "Of course, a turnaround is possible, but when you have a business that can lose more than 50% of its revenue, it is at risk of survival."
Richard also called on supporters to back the team in the upcoming Clasico against Paris Saint-Germain despite the critical situation. "We hear every day that people are worried and asking 'so what?' I am worried too, but we still need to come to the stadium to support us."
The president also criticized Pablo Longoria's previous actions by pointing out that there was not enough investment in the training center in recent seasons. He added that managing the club requires a more responsible and financially sustainable approach.
