Spalletti criticizes Kolo Muani's performances at Juventus

Luciano Spalletti, coach of Juventus, openly criticized Randal Kolo Muani during a Europa League match against NEC Nijmegen. "We brought him in and pampered him," Spalletti said, adding that if Kolo Muani hasn't played for two years, it's without reason. He also noted that sometimes one must recognize leaving certain things behind.

Kolo Muani, who came on as a substitute twenty minutes from time and scored his first goal for Juventus in this match (5-0), accepted the criticism without complaint. "He is right," he said. Though not worried about not having scored yet, he affirms he is ready to play in different positions and advocates team spirit.

Spalletti also pointed out the positives during the match: "Yesterday [Wednesday], training was optional and Kolo Muani came alone. He ate and slept alone, showing how much he cares about his work despite current difficulties."

Juventus will soon face Atalanta in a crucial match.
