Lieutenant-Colonel Johann, second-in-command of the RSMA, explained that this practical training allows the young soldiers to move from workshops to concrete application. "We are teaching them their trade, to become plumbers, very concretely," he stated.
According to L’Info Kwézi (Mayotte), Prefect Frédéric Poisot pointed out that leaks after the meter lead to a daily loss of approximately 9,000 to 10,000 cubic meters of water, a volume comparable to the expected output of the desalination plant under construction.
The prefect also announced that the program will be extended to private structures and buildings owned by interested individuals. "Then, we will expand the program to private law structures and buildings belonging to individuals who wish to participate in this initiative," he declared.
