Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has made a controversial decision by leaving the national team and returning to Saudi Arabia. According to several sources, he left the national team camp following a disagreement with manager Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo's departure has had consequences for the Portuguese national team's official social media channels: more than a million and a half people have unfollowed the Seleçao's Instagram account, according to RMC Sport.
Jorge Jesus had opened the door to a possible reconciliation during a press conference last Saturday, but Ronaldo's actions seem to close that possibility for the time being.
