Vodou priest Ricardo Jacques, nicknamed "Mèt Flanbo", held a book sale and signing on Friday, October 30, 2026, in Delmas 40B. The event, which aimed to promote two books titled « Nana pou Sizàn » and « Gid Espirityèl », took place at the Bilolo Kongo premises.
Jacques spoke about the content of the books, stressing the importance of a better understanding of Haitian Vodou. He lamented the mistaken and approximate interpretations that often tarnish this religious tradition.
Several figures from the Vodou community took part in the event, including Manbo Lavi Djò and Manbo Marie-Jeanne. These representatives talked about ancestral practices and Haitian spiritual traditions in a friendly, cultural atmosphere.
Author Ricardo Jacques hopes that through this initiative he can help promote and pass on Haiti's spiritual heritage, which is especially important ahead of the Gédé festival on October 31, 2026.
