RC Lens takes a radical decision against its fans

RC Lens announced on Wednesday that it would ban its supporters from their designated area for the derby against LOSC on Friday. This measure comes after serious incidents during the match in Bruges in the Champions League, where 132 pyrotechnic devices were counted by UEFA and several projectiles were thrown onto the pitch.

The club states that "a red line has been crossed" and considers that a collective commitment to responsible behavior has been violated. RC Lens justifies this decision by citing the need to punish dangerous behaviors observed during the match in Bruges, while also seeking to avoid any potential excesses for this important derby.

Furthermore, UEFA imposed a fine of 80,000 euros on the club and banned supporters from the away section during the next European away games against Leipzig (November 24) and Liverpool (January 27).
