According to the Salvadoran army, four aviation technicians were attacked as they returned to their camp in a Santo area. The assailants used firearms and explosive devices during the raid on the armored vehicle.
After the attack, the soldiers exited the damaged vehicle but remain unreachable for now. The army is deploying helicopters to support search operations and is facing a difficult security situation in the region.
The FRG continues to assess the exact circumstances of this attack without specifying the human toll or the current status of the missing soldiers. Efforts to establish direct contact with them are hindered by the intensity of the confrontations and the danger of the area.
