Portugal: Yassin Fortuné scores again, but AVS fight back to hold Vizela 2-2

Haitian striker Yassin Fortuné scored FC Vizela's second goal away at AVS in Vila das Aves on Friday, November 6, 2026, in the opening match of the 10th round of Liga Portugal 2, Portugal's second division. Vizela led 2-0 at halftime, but the match ended 2-2, sports dailies Record and A Bola and public broadcaster RTP reported.

Manu Garrido opened the scoring in the 3rd minute with a backheel from a low cross by Morschel, according to Record. In the 30th minute, Fortuné made it 2-0 after a one-two with Morschel at the edge of the box, according to A Bola and Sport TV. Both Vizela goals therefore were set up by Morschel. None of these outlets credits Fortuné with an assist in this match.

AVS fight back

AVS came back in the second half. Left-back André Sousa pulled one back in the 66th minute (the 67th according to A Bola), and Guilherme Neiva equalized in the 84th minute after goalkeeper Antonio Gomis failed to hold a shot, according to Sport TV. In between, Vizela went down to ten men when Aliou Traoré was sent off, RTP reported. The match was played in front of 810 spectators.

The draw leaves Vizela provisionally 8th with 15 points and AVS 10th with 13 points, according to RTP.

Two goals in two games

It was the second game in a row in which Fortuné has scored. On Sunday, November 1, he opened the scoring in the 13th minute of Vizela's 2-1 win over Académica, deflecting in a wide free kick from Neto after being left unmarked in the box, according to Record. Matías Lacava scored the winner from the penalty spot in stoppage time.

His form comes just before the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinal between Haiti and the United States, on November 14 in Miami and November 17 in Cincinnati. According to Le National, coach David Badía's squad for the two matches was expected this week. It had not been published as of this writing, so it is not yet known whether Fortuné will be included.
