Under the direction of Lovely François, General Director of the ONA, participants examine several aspects of the system: social coverage for the informal sector and the diaspora, financial viability, inflation, and transparency. "The human must remain at the heart of our system," said an unidentified person during the opening remarks.
The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Marc Élie Nelson, emphasized the need to integrate informal workers. "Informal workers are not invisible workers," he stated. Guichard Doré, Chief of Staff at the ONA, mentioned the need to modernize a system in place since 1968 to better integrate informal sector workers and the diaspora.
Guichard Doré also noted that "inflation eats away at young people's retirement." He expressed concern about the impact of inflation on the retirement regime, highlighting its effect on intergenerational equity. The forum also addresses financial management and the mobilization of national savings.
