Un premier succès contre San Antonio

The two sources agree on the starting point. Oklahoma City had already won against San Antonio in the opener, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander features in both accounts.

According to TV5Monde, this game took place on Tuesday at the Spurs' home in Texas. Oklahoma won 116-104 after leading from start to finish. The team thus took its revenge for the Western Conference finals, which San Antonio had won 4-3 the previous season.

Gilgeous-Alexander scored 32 points in that game, along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He was also blocked by Aday Mara on a dunk attempt. Stephon Castle scored 24 points and Dylan Harper 18 for San Antonio. A brief scuffle broke out between the two teams during the match.

Denver mène à la pause, puis s'essouffle

Nikola Jokić finished with 13 points, making 5 of his 19 shots. Jamal Murray scored only six points. DeMar DeRozan also contributed 13 points.

La bascule du troisième quart-temps

Gilgeous-Alexander had not scored a single basket during the first two periods. He finished with 17 points, shooting 6 for 19. His streak of 141 consecutive regular-season games with 20 points or more came to an end.

A basket by Ajay Mitchell put Oklahoma City back in front at 64-62 in the second half of the third quarter. The Thunder won that period 26-16 and led 70-64 going into the fourth quarter. They then took the final quarter 26-20, making it 52-36 overall for the second half.

Holmgren blocked Christian Braun on a dunk attempt, a play that illustrated the Thunder's solidity near the rim.

Les prochains rendez-vous

Denver will host New Orleans on Saturday, October 24 for their first home game. Oklahoma City will welcome the Clippers on Sunday, October 25.
