The FRG did not specify the exact number of Chadian troops deployed but indicated that this contingent is meant to reinforce the existing personnel and support the continuous deployment of the force.
According to a UN Security Council report, as of July 8, 2026, the military component of the FRG counted 1,083 personnel, while its civilian component recorded 16 people.
The creation of the FRG was approved by UN Security Council Resolution 2793 on September 30, 2025. It replaces the Kenya-led Multinational Support Mission to Security (MSS) and is authorized up to a total strength of 5,500 military and police personnel.
In this context, armed violence in Haiti continues with alarming figures: from January to March 2026, at least 1,642 people were killed and 745 others injured according to BINUH. From April to June, these figures rose to 1,408 deaths and 656 injuries.
The humanitarian situation remains concerning with significant population displacements: the IOM recorded over 1 million 466 thousand internally displaced persons in May 2026. Since July 6, violence in Artibonite has led to approximately 6,250 displacements.
