Haitian singer Bedjine released her new single, "J'avoue" ("I confess"), on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 5 p.m. on her official channel, Le National reports. The track is also available on streaming platforms. According to the paper, it was produced and composed by Joubite Dessalines, with lyrics written by the artist herself, whose full name is Marie Bedjine Love David.
Far from konpa's horns
For Le National, the "princess of konpa" is stepping into "international pop star mode" with the song. The paper describes a minimalist production, far from konpa's heavy drums and horns: a dark R&B bassline, a muted piano and plenty of space for a voice that half speaks, half sings. It compares that relaxed, intimate flow to Aya Nakamura's, the French-Malian star of French-language pop, and says Bedjine is aiming for the same audience.
A confession foretold
In late October, the singer presented the video as a confession. According to HMI Music, which shared the announcement on October 30, the preview speaks of the exhaustion of pretending everything is fine, with the idea that behind every smile lies a story, one she says she is ready to tell. A line in Haitian Creole shifts the song's tone, according to the site.
