"The PNH has reached these key zones and is ensuring their consolidation," Massillon Jean said during an interview with Magik 9. He also requested logistical support from the Ministry of Public Works to facilitate future operations.
For two weeks, the PNH has been conducting a series of operations in Kenscoff following massacres committed by bandits in August. The National Human Rights Defense Network reported 164 people killed in armed attacks between July and August.
On Friday, September 25, the PNH announced on social media that several criminals had been fatally wounded in these operations. The police stated they would continue their efforts to track down "the last remnants of terrorist bandits."
Massillon Jean added: "We encourage and congratulate the great efforts being made by the police, while asking them to maintain these advances."
Visit by Officials
On-site on Friday, September 25, Fernel Saintil (Central Police Administration), Yvon Cantave (West-1 Departmental Director), and Jean-Pierre Ketler Morisseau (Kenscoff Police Commissioner) evaluated the ongoing operations.
Massillon Jean emphasized that financial resources are needed to facilitate the return of displaced persons to these recovered areas. He urged the population to remain cautious and patient as this work is completed.
