Principal Carriey Dérival indicated that students have only attended about four months of classes each year during these repeated moves. "The success rate has decreased considerably in recent years," he laments.
For the new academic year, the high school has settled into premises shared with the École nationale Caroline Chauveau on Rue Capois. Despite reduced conditions, Dérival states that "everything is going very well" and that there is a 50% increase in the number of students compared to last year.
Since its departure in 2023, the high school has moved successively to the premises of Dei Virtus, UNASMOH, and Maximilien Robert Pierre before finding temporary shelter at Caroline Chauveau. This year, it must make do with a much more restricted space with only eight classrooms.
"The high school still exists and continues to carry out its mission in the service of Haitian youth," concludes Dérival, hoping for a return to its historic premises soon despite current uncertainties.
