Last Wednesday, a portion of the students from the Lycée Younoussa Bamana joined the movement, denouncing their study conditions which they deemed "unacceptable." They highlighted several issues: unsanitary bathrooms, overcrowded classrooms with up to 38 students per class, and a lack of teachers in certain subjects.
During a meeting with the administration on Wednesday, the students received responses that were considered "not up to the situation." The administration explained that the shortage of teachers is due to social context and there would not be enough space to create additional classrooms.
The strikers now demand a roundtable including the administration, unions, and parent representatives. They are calling for a precise and concrete timeline to resolve their issues.
