A victory over two candidates
According to Mayotte Hebdo, the vote took place on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The winning candidate secured 21 votes against 16 and 12 votes for her rivals.
The newspaper also reports the remarks made after the vote: "I am very honored to represent all members of the Municipal Youth Council of Mamoudzou. I have confidence in my peers, and I know that together we can improve life in our commune."
The priorities of the term
According to Mayotte Hebdo, the municipal deputy in charge of this body, Zaitouni Abdallah, welcomed the candidates' manifestos, stating: "We saw and felt that these are young people who can bring something to us."
