The Haitian champions started the match well, taking the lead thanks to Fabrice Jean Vedrine, who scored in the 39th minute. However, after the break, Portmore United turned the score around with two goals from Javier Brown in the 63rd and 74th minutes.

Following this defeat, Concacaf postponed the return leg of the semi-final, originally scheduled for October 20, after Dominican authorities refused to host the Haitian team. José Deschamps, president of the Dominican Football Federation, confirmed that Concacaf had accepted this decision.

The new match is scheduled for the week of October 26, but no date or venue has been announced yet. This situation further complicates the continental schedule for Violette AC, which already has to play outside of Haiti due to security issues.

Consequences

The postponement entails additional costs for the Haitian team, particularly in terms of transport and accommodation. Furthermore, the issue of regulatory and financial responsibilities has not yet been resolved by Concacaf.
