The blockbuster match scheduled at the Parc des Princes to close out the championship gives the winner first place in the standings. Originally planned for Sunday, the showdown was moved to Monday. Coach Luis Enrique accepted this rescheduling imposed by the League and public authorities, stating according to But! Football Club: "If we play on Monday and it is better for the current situation, I accept it. Sunday is a special day given the circumstances. There is also an NFL match. I have no problem playing on Monday."

Four major absences for Paris

Both clubs are approaching this match with depleted squads, but Paris has several regular starters unavailable. Nuno Mendes, Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are missing to face the team managed by Paulo Fonseca. According to Sport News Africa, which also mentions the absence of Marquinhos, the Parisian attack could start Désiré Doué alongside Ferran Torres or Maghnes Akliouche. The same media outlet recalls that the club from the Île-de-France region is coming off European wins against Manchester City and then Barcelona, a match in which Lucas Hernandez and Fabián Ruiz notably scored.

The stakes in the standings and past encounters

The Parisian side is aiming for the top spot following the rescheduling of the match. According to But! Football Club, an anonymous source highlighted the goal of the encounter: "As of Monday, we can be leaders. That is our goal, it is important to be as high as possible. Facing Paulo Fonseca's Lyon is a motivation." On the visitors' side, Fonseca is also wary of this trip. According to the same newspaper, the manager commented: "It will be complicated. They won last year in Paris. They have the same coach and play attractive football."
